Perfect for using inside whelping boxes for newborn puppies as well as for general use. This premium heat pad uses the latest Graphene heating technology to deliver superior heating and energy efficiency. Come in 2 sizes:

• 70 x 45cm (Suitable for SMALL or MEDIUM whelping boxes)
• 90 x 65cm (Suitable for MEDIUM or LARGE whelping boxes)

When using in a whelping box, we recommend you heat no more half of the whelping area. Therefore puppies can move away when they feel too hot. We advise starting at heat setting #4 for newborn pups and adjust up/down to achieve approx 30-32 degrees. The setting will depend on various factors such as the ambient room temperature, bedding thickness, pup weigh etc. You will need to monitor the puppies to ensure their comfort.

What is Graphene heating and why is it better?

Without getting too technical (you can easily Google this tech if you are interested), Graphene heating mimics the warmth from the sun by producing far-infrared radiation, whereas your old heat blankets do it by running electricity through a type of wiring that simply gets hot due to the resistance in the material.

The advantages of Graphene heating are:

• It warms using a similar method as natural sunlight, therefore it feels more gentle and it doesn't dry your skin as much. It's commonly used in high-end massage and pain relief products
• It works much quicker and reaches the desired temperature within minutes
• Graphene is a super-conductive material so it can heat a large area evenly (i.e. without making the middle area too hot and the edges too cold)
• It's highly energy efficient. Our 70cm size is only rated at 70W and the 90cm is 130W. Not much more than a single halogen lightbulb

Note: This heat pad is designed to be placed under your existing dog bed (or under the vet bedding inside a whelping box)  so your dog cannot chew on the pad. Please make sure the side with the silver sticker is facing up. It would also be a good idea to make sure the remote control and cables are well hidden away. By default, the timer is automatically set for 1 hour when it's turned on.
