Does a metal kennel become too hot?

It's true that metal heats up more than wood or plastic. But if you are wearing a fur coat on a 30 degree day, would you like to sit inisde a little plastic box in the middle of the sun, even if it's "fully insulated"? Chances are you or your dog would be much better off sitting under a pergola or awning. That is why we generally advise people to invest in sun shelter rather an insulted kennel., because dogs do NOT go in their kennel during a hot day. But we did add insulation under the roof so the kennel will cool down quicker after the sun goes down.

As for winter, unless you are talking about sub-zero temperatures, a warm bed inside our kennel is generally good enough for most dogs.

Is it really hard to build? I am not great at assembling things.

We understand that not every one has power tools at home and some of us just are not very good at building things, so we have tweaked our designs again and again over the years, we are proud to say our latest version is the easiest one to build on the market. Most of the "garden-shed" type kennels involves drilling and would take 1-2hrs to build (plus they don't have a floor).

When you open the carton, you immediately see 4 complete sidewalls, a roof and some floor panels. Because all the panels are machined and shaped to fit together in just one way, you could immediately work out what goes where within a minute. You are basically just screwing 6 sides of a box together, all you need is a screw-driver and maybe 20-30min.

The SMALL size is great for small / medium size such as Bull Terriers, English Staffordshire, Australia Cattle dogs and most breeds under 25kg.
